Yes! Of course you can! But you have to give them proper care and attention. You also need to keep the climate right in their area. I'm no expert but our neighbour keeps tortoises :)

Not naturally. Tortoises are reptiles - and thus are found in naturally hot (and humid) climates. All tortoises in capitivty in Britain were imported - and they've subsequently been bred by many keepers.
