I believe that many of the tribal religions were developed out of necessity. If you consider being isolated from other cultures, many tribes had to come up with reasons for sickness and war. Just like in other cultures today, people need something to believe in. Many of the early religions started because of myths and legends of the Earth's creation and the afterlife. No one in history wanted to believe that things just stopped after death. I do believe that each of the religions has a similar theme of a plan for after death and reasoning of their existence. Most tribal religions also worship the nature, which is logical because it is the source for their survival.
