It's been my experience that the MAIN computer gets confused and doesn't know what ratio of gas to air mixture is needed when you pump the gas for starting a fuel injected car. It's VERY easy to flood it I've found.

Under normal conditions, if you leave your foot off the gas [AS USUALLY RECOMMENDED IN YOUR FACTORY INSTRUCITON MANUAL] when turning engine over, the fuel pump will have already started to pump fuel as soon as you turned the key on and now the computer, based on the tempeature and other conditions, desides what APPROPIRATE mixture is required and the engine starts.

Very hard to disipline 'carborator experenced drivers' not to pump the gas when starting. Experience with it starting well without pumping is the best trainer I think so don't learn to start your engine at fifty below. Practice at normal temperatures.

Why change to efi engine?

Efi stands for electrical fuel injection there are also dfi Direct fuel injection or Port Injection Electronic Fuel Injection, as opposed to a carburator. EFI is usually throttle-body injection, meaning the fuel and air mixture are injected into a venturi at the same time. The other type dfi wherein a squirt of fuel is injected directly into the cylinder. efi can give more power and Dfi even more power but also less pollution when driving in town and on a red light. its not the whole engine only the fuel injection method you can buy Efi conversion for any car for low money

Will fuel economy increase if switched from tbi to fuel injection?

TBI is fuel injection....it just uses one or two injectors mounted in the location of where the carb used to be. Multi-Port fuel injection may give you a small (very small) improvement in fuel economy. However, the cost and trouble to make the switch would take a long time to pay off with the small amount of improvement in mileage.

Over the past few weeks my car has had issues starting right up. I have to give it gas for it to start up. And now it won't start. What could cause this?

Here are a few things I would check. Air filter. Does it need changing. Fuel lift pump and filter. working correctly and clean Carburettor. Are the jets clear and unclogged Spark plugs. Is there a strong spark. Clean and gap set correctly. If it has fuel injection as opposed to a carburettor check the injection pump, fuel lines and injectors. Injection timing. Ignition timing

What is a Z-tract intramuscular injection?

It is where you pull the skin down or up and hold it there until you give the injection. Then you release it and it is supposed to make it so that the medication does not come back out onto the skin. This is usually used for medication that is irritating to the skin.

Yes you can install the pipe without any major noticeable effects, though to maximize the benefit of the exhaust you may have to change the fuel injection mapping.

Can you put a 4 barrel carbureator on a 1992 Chevy 4.3 v6 vortec?

Yes, but it is a lot of work, fuel pump change, adapter plate, new fuel lines. The injection system will give you more horsepower and mileage by better fuel delivery.

What is a reasonable amount to pay to have the fuel injection system serviced at a dealership and or an automotive shop?

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. If it is broken, it depends on that you mean by "serviced". A replacement could be several hundred dollars, your best bet might be to find a good mechanic and call around, they should be able to give you an estimate. Find a mechanic here:http://cartalk.com/(Mechanic's Files - enter your zip code and read the reviews!) Additional: if you pay for a fuel injection cleaning you are getting ripped off. try a bottle of stp fuel injection cleaner and do it yourself. you'll save a lot of money and be doing exactly what the mechanic will do. if they are actually going to clean your fuel injectors it might be a different story, but be skeptical of "fuel injection services"
