Pine bedding is fine for guinea pigs. Some people believe pine shavings contain aromatic oils which could be potentially harmful for small animals. If you're worried about that, just air the shavings by placing them in an open container for a couple of days before using. That should be enough for any potentially harmful emission to dissipate.
The kind of bedding you never want to use is cedar; that one is indeed very harmful to guinea pigs.
