Armenia
U.S.S.R stands for the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, which was made by Russia in 1922 when it joined the Ukraine, Belorussia and the Transcaucasian Republic (Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan). Over the next number of years, the USSR absorbed other republics into it.
Armenia has a constitution and a separation of powers. Armenia does have stronger human rights than other of the majority former Soviet Republics. There have been in the past made of Freedom of expression, movement, religion, and the media. But there has not been an actual document of the bill of rights written for the country of Armenia.
Russia usually goes by the name of United Soviet Social Republic, but many other countries such as Kazakhstan belonged to it too.

The USSR no longer exist; however when it did, the largest republic was Russia. At the time of the formation of of the USSR in 1923-1924, Russia was known as the Russian Soviet Federated Socialist Republic.
The dispute led Azerbaijan to cut off needed supplies of fuel and other resources to Armenia. The economy of both countries has been seriously hurt by this conflict :D This Was On My Book lol :D
Vladimir Lenin did by arranging the Treaty of the Soviet Union in December, 1922 among Russia, Ukraine, Belorussia and the Transcaucasus Federation (Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan). Afterwards, the Soviet Union brought other republics into the union.
Azerbaijan.....they had a territorial war in the 90's and had a cease fire. However,they are still shooting at each other from the border, basically they are still at war.
Do you remember the good old USSR - Union of Soviet SOCIALIST REPUBLICS? The two are not mutually exclusive, one is a political structure, the other economic. France is a republic and is capitalist.
It depends what you mean by "intervene". Unlike several other conflicts, UN peacekeepers were never deployed in the Nagorno-Karabakh Conflict (which involved Armenia and Azerbaijan). However, the UN passed several resolutions on that conflict, which did create a ceasefire. Please see the Related Link to view the resolutions.
