There is no law in Illinois regarding an age limit for front seat passengers. However, the Illinois Department of Transportation and Child Safety Agencies recommend the following:

  • All children under the age of 13 should ride in the back seat of the vehicle. If you must put a child under the age of 13 years in the front seat, be sure the seat is all the way back and the airbag is shut off.
