Letting them be creative forever is a good idea too. Encouraging them to know *how* to color within the lines is different than demanding it always. Adding an extra arm or two to a picture is just as legitimate as anything else. Too many children refer to the front of a coloring book to know how the pictures "should" be colored. Learning control is excellent, but don't stifle creativity.
