If an engine won't crank, it is a battery, starter, solenoid or wiring problem. Cranking means "engine turning over". If you mean that it cranks/turns over but won't start, then that is a different problem.
An engine needs air, compression, good fuel and good spark to run. It could be something simple like bad fuel or weak spark. It could be that the spark timing is off. It could also be low compression. (A worn cylinder or valves that are adjusted too tight or open/off their seats) It could be getting too much fuel or not enough fuel.
You haven't really given enough information to be more specific.
Replace your sparkplugs.
Its out of gas

You repair an ATV by first getting the materials required to fix it. You will need a wide range of materials in order to fix your ATV. I would suggest getting help from an individual who is experienced in this area, so no accidents happen while you are repairing it.

Fix the fuel/air system. Simple as that. Either that or someone has drilled a hole in your exhaust.
You need to deflate your ATV tire before you attempt to take it off. Then you need to break the air seal. They should come off after doing these steps.
check the regulator under the seat its the small finned box
i had the same exact problem with my 2001 polaris sportsman 400. It is either your voltage regulator or your stator. With your ATV running disconnect the positive terminal on your battery. IF the ATV quits instantly then its probably your stator.
