The Stratofort in Vietnam was only armed with one tailgunner, which utilized four .50 caliber machine guns (a quad fifty). Two NVAF MiG-21's were shot down by two B-52 tailgunners when they attempted to intercept the bombers over North Vietnam in December 1972. Ordnance dropped by the B-52's consisted primarily of 750 lb general purpose bombs (standard H-E). Any size could be dropped; but the 750 pounders seemed to be the most common.
