Hi, The first thing to check is the reverse switch at the shift stalk. The switch might have broken or the plunger on the switch might be so dirty that it won't return to the opoen position. On a manual. look under the boot and on an auto you need to lift the console and check the switch. Good luck and happy fixing. Steve H.
witch lights
yes, they do
Yes.
can the ECU cause the the back up lights to stay on
Reverse light switch failure
Are your lights automatic or do you have to turn them on??? If there automatic then you need to turn the knob to the left of the steering wheel and turn it to "Off" and its the same if there not automatic too.
yes the side lights can stay on
Look where the brake pedal is. See if there's a contact switch that needs adjustment.
Only the front lights stay on for safety. You need to turn on your lights to get the back lights to come on. To turn off the front safety lights just push your emergency brake on one click.
Check ur back light switch:P everyones done it...
check the brake pedal, there is a switch on the back of the pedal that depressed when the brake is depressed that turns the lights on, when this is loose it keeps the lights on.
