I don't know all the basic beliefs of Islam. It is part of the same string of religious beliefs as Judaism and Christianity. Christians basically added to the Jewish faith, taking their Torah as the Old Testament, and adding the New Testament which covers the birth, life, and death of Jesus as the Messiah. Muslims take it a step further: They acknowledge the Jewish and Christian faiths, and they believe in the life story and teachings of Jesus. They do not, however, believe that Jesus Christ was the Son of God. They see Jesus as a prophet. The Muslim prophet Mohammed, I think, is believed to be the final prophet of God, or as the Muslims call him, Allah. He was sent to basically "finish" the Bible as we knew it. God started with the Torah, then added the New Testament when he sent Jesus as a prophet, and he basically wrote the final version of his Word by sending Mohammed to preach for him.
That is MY understanding of Islam. I do not know if all of it is correct.
the basic thing in Islam is to believe in that no god with Allah and Muhammed is the prophet of Allah
