Alternator belt is probably loose and slipping. If you can turn the alternator by hand and the belt slips its too loose. Retension alternator belt
Take off the negative battery cable and hook a test light in between the cable and the battery post. If you have a drain, the light will be on. Start pulling fuses until the light goes off and when it does go off, that is the thing that is draining the battery. If no fuses affect it, take the altermator wires off. If the light goes off then, the alt is bad,.
"The only time the charge battery light goes off is when you press the gas" is the classic symptom of a loose or very well worn belt.
Why would battery light come on then go off
Check your alternator, load test the battery, and if all else, just ignore it until the light stays on full time.

I just disconnect the battery terminal for a few minutes and then connect it again and the Lambda light goes off. Emmanuel Vella.
Say it is a power circuit, a light bulb is bright from the battery, flowing through the wires and the light bulb. There is a switch controling the power that goes through, so if you switched the off switch off, the power will no longer be flowing through(the light bulb wouldn't be bright any longer). You will come off the battery + side with a wire to a fuse, from the fuse to a switch, switch to the light, the other wire from the light goes to ground. Protect the wire from the battery all the way to the light for wear. If you have trouble, or need more info let me know.
The light next to the battery warning light is the fuel injection system warning light. If it comes on and goes off after a short while it should be ok but if it stays on for longer than 5-10 minutes then get it checked out.
Battery light usually means alternator not charging. Most common solutions would be be a bad alternator, bad connection, or loose alternator belt.
