hey, being able to succeed in doing 12 or more bicep curls will improve mostly your muscular endurance. This is so since you are doing repititions which involve your ability to lift weights as much as you can. Lifting weights can get hard, especially with bicep curls thats why you have to especially keep trying. Doing 12 or more bicep curls does improve muscular strength but not as much as muscular endurance. This is because bicep curls are already consisting of strength in your bicep muscles but it is meant being done more than once (or one try) thanks:)!

Yes. Without them, you'd only be able to do one curl, and could never straighten your elbow again.
Muscles can only pull not push. That is why they work in pairs an example is your tricep and bicep, your bicep pulls your arm up and your tricep pulls your arm down.
40 reps is quite a lot for your biceps, especially if the weight is at all heavy. You may want to increase the weight and reduce the number of repetitions. Anyways, if you really feel alright after doing that routine by the next day, sure, keep going. But if your workout is intense enough (as it should be) you probably won't be able to do curls every day without encountering a lot of soreness.

the bicep like any skeletal muscle are there for motion. they allow the bones to move without these muscles we would not be able to move. the bicep contracts (becomes shorter) and pulls the lower arm up. giving you movement remember muscles work in pairs so when the bicep contracts the tricep (the opposite muscle) relaxes. they work together to coordinate movement sufficiently
