apple
a strawberry
One difference between an apple and a strawberry - apart from the fact they are completely unrelated species - is that apples have seeds on the inside of the fruit, while strawberries have their seeds on the outside. Another difference, as far as the consumer is concerned, is that apples should be firm and crisp when ready to eat (uncooked), while strawberries should be firm yet soft to the bite. You can crush a ripe strawberry between your fingers, but not a ripe apple, or a strawberry-sized piece of apple.

Apple and Pears are most similar but Peach is also a tree. Strawberry is most different because it is a low bush and not a tree. By the way the strawberry is not really a berry the fleshy and edible part of the fruit is a receptacle, and the parts that are sometimes mistakenly called "seeds" are achenes.
