from being stripped of their unalienable rights. Each of those 10 amendments protects us from different things, and gives us different rights. Such as in amendment 8 it protects us from cruel and unusual punishment.

Am3. protects us from the quartering of troops.
Am4. protects us from illegal searches and seizures.

Am.9 protects our unenumerated rights
Am10. gives the rights not listed in the constitution to the states and the people.
