· Transmitted to humans by fleas from infected rats

· First records are in Constantinople, 541 AD

· More than 10, 000, 000 people died due to the Bubonic Plague in India alone

· 65, 000 people killed in Florence in 4 months

· In 1328 in China, was the first outbreak before the serious plague that killed 1/3 of the population

· Australia is the only continent that the plague did not reach

· The most deadly epidemic ever known
