Massage the tip of your finger, to increase the blood flow also. Disinfect with alcohol swab, then gently squeeze your finger, prick your finger, whip fist drop off and squeeze your finger gently again. You should get a droplet enough for your test. Do not use ice, this decreases the blood flow to the area, resulting in less blood and the pain of having to prick again. Trust me I am a Medical Assistant! I am diabetic and preform this procedure all day!
