Shouldn't need the number to obtain a new one, but your Dodge dealer should be able to tell you with a quick phone call (they're usually about $20 to $30). If you're wanting to know it's location on the truck, it's on the passenger underside of the dash with a 5 wire harness and held in by two screws, very easy DIY fix.
It is under the hood in the passenger side firewall.
Under the dash, far passenger side.
Diagram for location of blower motor resistor can be found herehttp://autorepair.about.com/library/images/bl441a-lib.htm
replace the blower fan resistor and you`ll be okay
Under the dash below glove box. You will see the blower motor and it's to the left of it. You will see a wire harness going to it.
most common problem is the blower resistor In the firewall on the passenger side of the truck is the blower motor speed resister coils, they burn out alot. I could not find one for my Dakota so I got one from a dodge caravan and I changed the wirring, that is the most likely problem
Your truck has both. the resistor is between the switch & blower.thje resistor controls the blower speed
The Chrysler part number is 472 0278
check the blower motor resistor pack. should be firewall side of heater rectangular connector with 4 or 5 wires.
I have changed resistor a d blower motor still not working, maybe i missed a fuse or could the control switch not work?
A 1998 Dakota does not have a ballast resistor.
The resistor just helps in the different speeds, and isn't used at all during hi speed, Access it under the passenger side of the dash. The resistor, and the blower motor are both easy to get to
