The bore is 83mm (3.270"), stroke is 70mm (2.7559") total displacement is 379cc
The bore and stroke is different, But if you set the 2 side by side they will look the same other then some 400 engines have an extra freeze out plug in the side of the block that the 350 don't have. 350 bore and stroke is 4.000 bore, stroke is 3.480 400 bore is 4.125 and stroke is 3.750
Bore 4.120 Stroke 3.75
4-stroke... The 400 is a 2-stroke
2 stroke
yes it does
Most 91 polaris 400's are 2-stroke , and there is an oil tank in the front . Make sure the oil is 2-stroke oil for injection .
bore and stroke a chevy 400 smallblock.
There is no valves as it is a 2-stroke engine .
If you mean the difference between the Pontiac 400 and 455....the differences are the bore size, the crank stroke length, and the main bearing journals. All are bigger on the 455. However, there is also a small block Chevy 400....which has nothing the same as the other two. The Pontiac 400 has a bore of 4.12, stroke 3.75 and 3" main journals. The 455 has a bore of 4.151, stroke of 4.21, and 3.25" main journals.
Basicly the same design, Yes, The crankshafts do not interchange though since the 455 has 3.25" main journals and the 400 has 3.00" mains. Heads, intakes, cams, oil pans, oil pumps, distributors, ect all interchange though. 400 is 4.12 bore 3.75 stroke 455 is 4.15 bore 4.21 stroke
where is the plug on the 400 4x4 ATV to drain the oil? Isn't the 400 a two stroke? No oil in case.
82MM is standard bore and 71.2MM is the Stroke
