There are different options for bringing food to a shiva. The main consideration is if the family keeps kosher, to be safe, any food taken or sent to a shiva house should be kosher. These days, most communities work with kosher caterers to coordinate meals for the shiva. You could ask a close friend or family member of the mourners to find out if that's what is being done. If it is, it's not necessary to bring anything with you.

I've seen brownies, lemon bars, lasagna, salads that don't contain lettuce (because lettuce wilts too quickly), veggies and dips, deviled eggs, and similar things.
