It can be dangerous to suddenly stop taking any drug that helps to regulate your mood. If you are thinking about stopping the drug, be sure to speak with your doctor. While it may be difficult to approach the subject, going on and off drug therapy is very common in the mental health profession. So, just speak with your provider even if it's over the phone and tell them your concerns. Ask the hard questions... Dr.Sis

The simple answer is NO, you shouldn't.Excessive use or abrupt discontinuation of barbiturates and other sedatives after chronic ingestion may precipitate seizures in patients receiving Wellbutrin. Theoretically, barbiturates like Wellbutrin may also decrease the plasma concentrations and pharmacologic effects of Wellbutrin due to induction of hepatic CYP450 isoenzymes. The pharmacological response to Wellbutrin should be monitored more closely whenever a barbiturate is added to or withdrawn from therapy, and the Wellbutrin dosage adjusted as necessary. Although barbiturates and other sedatives may be prescribed to treat agitation, anxiety, and insomnia associated with Wellbutrin use, patients should be alerted to the possibility of an increased risk of seizures during excessive exposure to these drugs. Patients should not attempt to alter the dosages or discontinue the medications on their own without consulting with your physician. The use of bupropion is contraindicated in patients undergoing abrupt discontinuation of sedatives.
It is more dangerous for arthropods to molt, because an arthropod without an exoskeleton is more vulnerable than a bird without feathers.
I'm no expert, but I've been taking wellbutrin for almost a year. I wouldn't call wellbutrin a "high." I have always been a pretty emotional person, but once I got to college and had actual stressors in my life, it kept taking me longer and longer to snap out of moods caused by everyday conflicts. Wellbutrin -and counseling- has allowed me to see conflicts without immediately reacting with emotion. Instead I react with reason, and decide how I should feel once I assess the situation. It's not really an upper, or a downer. It delays emotional response without having a numbing affect. Some people report having jitters, but I never have. I took celexa and then lexapro for awhile, and those gave me bizarre jittery side-effects - I would describe it as constantly feeling like you have to stretch. Wellbutrin really worked for me, but be warned. High doses of Wellbutrin - or even regular doses, depending on the person - can cause seizures. I had one recently and now have to look for something else that works just as well. :(
