Usually the Depo-Provera shot stops your periods within about 3 months, however it is normal to spot off and on during the first three months as your body adjusts.
There are a few women that can have the adverse effect of what the norm for the shot is. I bled constantly for 5 months until the y put me on the pill for a month to help control the bleeding. After my month of the pill was up, it didn't have a period for 4 months before I went back in and was put on something else just to get it jump started again.

Hello, When you start birth control, your period will generally arrive around the time you started taking BC pills. During the "sugar pill" you will get your period.
