We are looking for the possible blood types of a baby.

Parental information:

  • Mother type A pos = can be AA or AO and Rh (++) or (+-)
  • Father type A pos = can be AA or AO and Rh (++) or (+-)
Baby receives one gene from each parent:
  • Baby is type AA Rh (++) = Type A pos
  • Baby is type AA Rh (+-) = Type A pos
  • Baby is type AA Rh (--) = Type A NEG
  • Baby is type AO Rh (++) = Type A pos
  • Baby is type AO Rh (+-) = Type A pos
  • Baby is type AO Rh (--) = Type A NEG
  • Baby is type OO Rh (++) = Type O pos
  • Baby is type OO Rh (+-) = Type O pos
  • Baby is type OO Rh (--) = Type O NEG
NOTE: There is no B gene in this mix; therefore, a baby could NOT be AB positive.

The baby from Type A pos parents will be Type A pos/neg or Type O pos/neg.

Can a mother has A positive blood type and a father has AB positive and the child has B positive?

Since both parents are Rh+, the child will also be Rh+.If the Mother is A0+ and Father is AB+, the child will be: AA+ AB+ AO+ or BO+ So yes this does produce a B+ child. If the Mother is AA+ and the Father is AB+, the child will be AB+ or AA+ neither of these is B+ so this doesn't produce a B+ child.
