* It is the way the owner of the dog treats it. I have yet to come across a single vicious American bulldog. All dogs want nothing more than to please their owner and if being nasty is what that person has shown the dog to be then the dog will act accordingly no matter what breed they are. * The American Bull Dog is not associated with the Pitt Bull. According to the breeders of these dogs they are most loyal, playful, but can become aggressive to certain strangers who come in the families home, and can be aggressive with other dogs when another dog has shown aggression towards them. When owners get a dog they should pay to be trained with their dog (small or large breeds) to listen to commands. Commands can be lifesavers for the dog, and certainly for others. The owner should be the leader of the pack and maintain that right as the dog expects it and if the owner fails the dog will learn bad habits and take control. This can lead to many problems with your beloved pet. Many owners say that after owning an American Bull Dog (highly intelligent) they wouldn't have any other breed. So, as the above poster said these dogs are the product of their owner's treatment. ALL DOGS should be trained at group classes or one trainer with the dog and owner to have a dog you can depend on and not worry about biting or causing fights with other dogs. If the owner refuses to do so with their dog then they risk the chance of any large dog biting someone and this could lead to the death of the dog. * The American Bulldog is KNOWN for it's temperment. Research this breed FULLY before comitting to this dog. The Pitt Bull is a COUSIN to the American Bull Dog. They are highly active, working dogs, that require a lot of time and energy from their owners. If this dog is not kept active, and properly trained, then YES, they MAY become aggressive. I have been an American Bull owner for several years now, and love my breed. However, in the wrong hands, or the hands of a novice owner, this can be too powerful a dog for some to handle. I highly recommend you research the breed fully!
Very!! American Bulldogs make wonderful companions. They are trustworthy, loyal and very loving. But, due to the breed's standard and history, the American Bulldog requires intensive obedience training and exercise. They are a little thick-headed (stubborn) so it is best to socialize and train them at a young age (3 to 6 months!) American Bulldogs are not known for their compatibility with small house pets like cats, but if properly socialized your cat will become a member of the American Bulldog's family and he will protect it like he would protect you.
I have never met a downright mean bulldog. most bulldogs i have know were actually some of the goofiest and sweetest things and were really good and patient around even very small children. Even though they were bred to fight like pit bulls, they were also bred to be good family dogs and to be loyal. Pit bulls are not different because they are great family dogs and if you do a little research you will find out that a pitbull is highly friendly twards humans, and in England is sometimes called the nanny dog because of the way it takes care of young children. and if you do a little more research you will find out that they are NOT!!! mentally unstable which makes them a very good family dog. But NO an American bulldog is not dangerous. mine was a big baby that would protect his family till the end
AMERICAN BULL DOGS ARE NOT MEAN!!! THEY ARE IF YOU MESS WITH THEM TOO MUCH OR THEY HAVE BEEN ABUSED!!!!!!
to answer your question, yes, American bulldogs can fight.
in fact all dog breeds can fight unless for some reason they are toothless, limbless, and blind.
I would advise you NOT to have any dogs fight on purpose. I would also advise not to put any animals in intentional danger as doing so is illegal in many areas of the United States.
any dog no matter what the breed can be made dangerous if not raised and treated properly. those breeds can do as much damage as each other i would suggest to read up on both their breed specific tendancies and temperments on Google
No.
I am not sure why you are asking this, because it is horrible if you are looking to fight your americna bulldog. i have one, they are the sweetest things in the world.
as long as the cat and American bulldog are friends.
