No, this is very unlikely. For a president to be impeached, he must be guilty of "high crimes and misdemeanors," such as treason or subverting the constitution. While conservative talk-shows and right-wing publications insist that Mr. Obama has done these things, the truth is he has not: such accusations are opinion and partisan rhetoric, coming from people who dislike the president and wish he were not in office. In fairness, during the presidency of George W. Bush, there were some partisans who wanted to see him impeached too.

But to impeach a president is not easy, and it has seldom been done in America's history. Not liking the policies of the president is not grounds for impeachment, nor can a reason to impeach him be found on the various conspiracy websites with their false assertions that have been debunked many times. It should also be noted that a majority of the American public does not agree with those who believe Barack Obama deserves impeachment: Mr. Obama was elected to a second term in the 2012 election, and many voters told pollsters they trusted this president much more than they trusted his opponent, Mitt Romney.

The Constitution provides that an elected official may be impeached/removed from office for "treason, high crimes and misdemeanors." By this standard, President Obama is in absolutely no danger of impeachment for anything he's done up to now.

No, probably not, although there are a number of Republicans who keep hoping. This is not unexpected-- whenever one side wins the election, there are partisans on the losing side who want to find a reason to have the winner removed from office somehow. This occurred when George W. Bush was president, and we see a similar emotion about Barack Obama. But impeaching a president is a serious matter, and it is not supposed to be about politics or partisanship. The criteria for impeachment are that the president has committed "high crimes and misdemeanors," such as treason. At this point, whether or not you like Mr. Obama, and contrary to what you hear on certain Talk Shows, there is no evidence the president has committed any impeachable offenses.

It's highly unlikely, especially considering that he's in his final year as president.
