i guess technically, they could if Sephiroth came back and somehow managed to take control of Cloud again as he did in the original 7. but really no because i mean, if you played the original 7, then you would know that Sephiroth controled Cloud through the mass qunatities of JENOVA cells in his body, making Cloud give Sephiroth the Black Materia. however in the end of the game, before the scripted fight between Cloud and Sephiroth, Sephiroth attampts to take control of Cloud's mind again, but due to Cloud's new found strength, he is not put under Sepiroth's control. so, in answer to your question, NO.

"Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children" takes place two years after the events of the original "Final Fantasy VII" game, which means it is set in the year 0007 of the Modern Era in the game's timeline. Since the original game is set primarily in 0005, Advent Children continues the story in 0007.
Spoilers: Cloud is trying to move on from the events of FFVII in Advent Children. He is a bit of a recluse and is by himself most of the time. Aeris/Aerith is dead, and Tifa is shafted due to Cloud's emo-ness. Cloud ends up with his friends at the end of Advent Children (i.e., Tifa, Barret, Yuffie, Cid, Red XIII, Cait Sith, orphans) but romantically, he's alone.

Children are mostly talking about playing activities in current events.
