Islam is a religion. You might ask: can Christianity be stopped? Or- can Judaism be stopped? I suppose its possible, but thousands of years of culture based on belief and faith aren't likely to change overnight.
Perhaps you meant to ask: Can RADICAL Islam be stopped? Another tough question. We tried ignoring their attacks. We tried declaring war in response to their attacks. Both strategies seem to have failed. If radical Islam is going to be stopped, we must first be willing to consider new options, and the middle ground between pacifism, and Imperialism.
