As far as I know MSG has never been shown to cause cancer, but it has been shown to increase the growth and metastasis of cancer. Also excess glutamate, the active component of MSG, can overstimulate neurons and generate enormous amounts of free radicals which can damage DNA. So I think MSG might could possibly cause some brain cancers in susceptible people.
Scientists have yet to find a link between MSG and cancer and have found that MSG doesn't even cause headaches and the such, contrary to popular belief. So next time your at a Chinese restaurant, you might want to worry more about the button on your pants snapping than cancer.

Yes, Indomie noodles do contain quite a bit of MSG (mono-sodium glutamate). Lately, there is a lot of controversy surrounding MSG because it causes some people to have headaches, chest pain, nausea, heart palpatations and other symptoms.
MSG
Yes. If you are sensitive to MSG, it can cause different symptoms in different people. It is hard to avoid. If you get a bad reaction to MSG, you will react to malted barley, hydrolyzed vegetable protein, autolyzed yeast, and many more.
I think it would be possible if a lot of the MSG entered the brain, since it would overstimulate brain cells which would generate enormous amounts of free radicals that damage DNA. However, I think it would be extremely rare. Excess glutamate such as that found in MSG has been shown to increase the growth and spread of cancer once you do have it though. I would be more concerned about MSG damaging and killing off my brain cells.
