Yes. I just don't know if the U.S. would send troops to stop it or not. I doubt that Americans have such an unquencheable thirst for blood that they would demand the deaths of Missourians over the issue of freedom-but you never can tell

In 1861, several US states DID attempt to declare their independence from the US- the result was the American Civil War- so, no, they do not have the right, and yes, the US HAS sent troops to prevent it in the past.
