Yes, I have had lots of experience with Oscars. One of mine died recently from a sickness. Algae eater fish are not dominant, in this case the Oscar does not take it as a threat and does not bother it. The answer to your question is yes, an Oscar can live with an algae eater fish.

Algae lives with fish
Either the Chinese Butterfly (hillstream loach) or the Chinese algae eater. Both eat algae, both stay smaller than standard plecos and both are live plant safe.
I do not know of any Algae eaters that can live in cold water . Goldfish are cold water fish. So unless you can find some species of cold water algae eater the answer is no they can not be kept together successfully.
My neon tetras lived with a couple of algae eaters quite happily (I think. It was difficult to ask them).
The best is catfish clown loaches and algae eaters. Any bottom feeders are good.just make sure it is bigger than the oscars voice
if they are both put inb4 your Oscar is huge, anything can live with an Oscar, they are mistaken for being aggressive, when usually they are just hungry.
