Can a child develop OCD symptoms on Strattera such as hair pulling?
I don't believe that the Strattera causes OCD symptoms, and it's possible that the hair pulling is not OCD, but possibly a Tic Disorder. My son was diagnosed by a neurologist at five to have a tic disorder (at that time snorting) and ADHD. To treat the ADHD, the Doc prescribed meds like Ritalin and Adderal, and the tics got worse. They also evolved into new and more disturbing habits (such as bald spots from hair pulling.) The Strattera was the only medication that has not aggrivated the tics.another opinion: I tried Strattera for adult ADD. At a tiny dose of 10 mg, it made me depressed and very OCD-like, at least mentally (obsess on a single thought for hours). I've seen other people on other sites claiming the same thing. So I do think it can cause or exacerbate OCD-like symptons. Everyone reacts differently to these things.

I'm not sure, but I've used Strattera for some months. I've OCD myself, and Strattera hasn't helped me with this problem. But neither have medications like Lexapro, Efexor or Zoloft. The only stuff I find helpful is bezos like Aprazolam or Diazepam. They just make me a little less conserned about things that i usely worry about. But in the end of the day, they're quite addictive. So you should be careful using them Sorry for my bed English.

Treatment wise, often times a stimulant medication can exacerbate symptoms of OCD (or make undiagnosed OCD bad enough to hav a formal diagnosis). If one is diagnosed with OCD, by giving in to obsessions, u are really making OCD stronger in the long run.

Each act on different region of the brain. But you likely won't have luck with Risperdal for OCD. Treatment for OCD is SSRIs and Anafranil (a TCA).

Can using marijuana once while on daily medication for OCD and ADD have bad results?
No not really, but look up some of the negative effects of marijuana and then think about it for a while. If you are OCD it could possibly make it worse, it could also calm you down a bit. One time isn't going to make much of a difference, but habitual use will really take an effect and make it hard for doctors to medicate you correctly because doctors won't know if they are medicating your OCD and ADD symptoms or your substance abuse symptoms. The most notorious medication to exacerbate tics in patients with ADHD (attention deficit, hyperactivity disorder) are the methylphenidates (ie, Ritalin compounds). Amphetamines (ie, adderall) may also contribute to tics.
What are negative stereotypes for OCD?
I think that nearly all stereotypes of OCD can be negative depending on the person. Somethings can really hurt people's feelings and make them feel conscious . Some asume that people with OCD are clean freaks, perfectionists and like to count everything and do things a certain number of times. These stereotypes are not applicable to every single person with OCD. When people are victims to this type of stereotyping they can lose a lot of self confidence and the disorder can be made worse by the person trying to correct it. Hope this helps!! XX

No Strattera often makes people tired. I have tryed this medication before(in the 40mg doseing) and i was very tired i also do not have adhd.
