I want to add that when I plug in my computer to recharge it is extremely slow now. Better on battery power, but not as good as it used to be

Yes, you can even keep both operating systems on your computer if you want. Don't try that yourself. If you are interested in that, search Youtube for "Dual-Boot Windows XP and Windows 7." If you want to totally remove Windows XP from your computer, put the Windows 7 disk inside the computer and then restart. If it still boots into Windows XP, change your boot order. Do some research on your BIOS and see how to change your boot order. Make sure that "CD-DVD" Comes before "Hard Drive" or anything like that. Then reboot your computer. You should now be welcomed to the Windows 7 installer. If it does NOT boot into Windows XP, then follow the steps you are given. Good Job! If you followed all the steps correctly, you should now be running Windows 7!
