In most states yes. The 17 year old is a minor and the 20 year old is an adult. In some states it would be kidnapping or at least corruption of a minor. Because gay relationships aren't recognized in most states, no, they can't take legal action against your girlfriend. As far as most laws, you and the other woman are just roommates. Since lesbian sex isn't recognized either, there isn't any legitimate legal action that can be taken. A seventeen years old is under the age of majority which in most states is 1;, in Alabama and Nebraska the age of majority is 19, in Mississippi and Pennsylvania the legal age is 21. The nature of the relationship is irrelevant as the age of majority laws ARE NOT applicable in the same way of the age of sexual consent laws. Therefore any action that could be taken would be depend upon the parents and or legal guardian. The 20 years old would most likely be considered an adult and could conceivably be held accountable under both criminal and civil codes. In almost any issue pertaining to underaged persons and adults, the state reserves the right to take any allowable action w/o the co-operation of the minor or the minor's parents or guardian.
no technically your are not 18 so your not considered an adult and your still a minor so your parents have legal rights over what you do until you turn 18. So if you turn 18 this year you can move in with him on or after your birthday. If you don't turn 18 until next year then you have to stay at home and do what your parents say.
