It depends on what state/country/region you live in. Just search up the age of consent in your state/province. In Canada, you have to be 16 and there can't be more than a 5 year age gap. The U.S.A's age of consent differs by state though it's usually 16-18 . (I'm Canadian so I'm not sure if there's the age gap rule in the USA). If this really is just going to watch a movie, that should be fine, but make sure to do your research before you engage in any sexual activities.

You must be 17 in order get into a movie theater for any rated R movie, unless you are accompanied by a Parent or Guardian.
There are no age restrictions for G, PG or PG-13 movies. The only age restrictions are for R and NC-17 movies. Persons under 17 need an adult chaperone to see an R movie. Persons under 17 cannot see an NC-17 movie in theatres at all, not even with an adult.

It depends on the movie theater, but usually you have to be 21 in order to buy tickets for people under 17. Some movie theaters will let you buy tickets for people under 17 if you are 17 and have a legit ID.
