It should. There's very little mechanical differences when the mid-cycle refresh took place in 1990. Most of it was cosmetic, and the B21 series motor that replaced the B20 in the 1988-89 model years should still bolt on the same.

i wouldn't swap it, the 87 is carbureated and the prelude is fuel injected, just put the same engine in. the 87 accord engine has less hp .
