Certified - completed a course and got some cert of learnings. Licensed - Registered with an Association eg the New Zealand Massage Association, paid afflilation yearly, and some back up support offered to the practioner.

it could be a spinal injury, go to a specialist. have them look at your back, meebee have them pop it. go to a massage therapist as well. if its nerve pain, its your back more than likely. if its muscle pain, the massage therapist should get the knots out.

A good massage therapist will keep you covered with towel's all the time anyway.If you are female its best without a bra so that the back can be fully open for a good massage,but your breasts will be covered. unfortunately you will have to take the boards in new york and im pretty sure you will have to go back to college too. my massage therapist was a PT in Germany and when she came to the states they told her she had to go to school here. so she became a massage therapist instead. what a waste - she was a good PT.

Back in they day masseuses were known as prostitutes, but this was mainly in Asia. Saying, "I'm going to a masseuse" may be taken the wrong way by some, but if some are intelligent enough, they'll know what you mean. I would recommend just saying, "I'm going to a massage therapist" or just say "getting a back massage" or whatever body part you'd need done.
