4L60E
NO. The 1996 and 1997 4L60E transmissions will not interchange with anything. If you own a 96 or 97 model then IT MUST HAVE THAT YEAR TRANSMISSION PUT BACK IN IT.
That would be the 4L60E transmission. There is ONLY 2 years that will work in that truck and they are 1996 and 1997
This will not bolt in without major modification
The ONLY transmission you can use in that year is a 4L60E if it is a 1/2 ton and a 4L80E if it is a 3/4 ton BECAUSE of the COMPUTER SYSTEM on the truck.
If it is a 1/2 ton then it will be the 4L60E. The 3/4 tons used the 4L80E in them. The only transmission that will work in that 96 model is a 1996 model transmission.
It will if the trans has Chevy bolt pattern.
Look underneath on the transmission. It screws in and usually has a round head on it.2-3 times bigger than a spark plug and a vacuum hose attached to it.Just pull the hose lose and unscrew it with visegrips or suitable tool.A repair manual will show you exactly. Dude, there isn't a modulator on a Chev truck of that era. And if it had a turbo 400, the mod is held in by a little bracket. I am sure you have a 4L60E however. Dan the tranny man
The overdrive has probably been unplugged on the transmission. Its a blue connector located on the transmission underneath the aircleaner. They are usually unplugged for a reason. If you plug it in and it runs bad, you have to replace the unit on the transmission.
only if the trans is from an olds, Buick or Pontiac engine. The bell housing bolt pattern from these engines is different from a chev block
It should be the 700R4 transmission.
will a front wheel drive transmissiom from a 1982 buick riviera work on a 4.3v6
