That depends. '71 W30's were made at Lansing MI, so the VIN must have the M.
The VIN must be 344... or it's not a factory 442... HOWEVER, and beware here,
the BODY TAG, which is NOT the VIN... can be for a Cutlass body [336...] at least for the '68-9 Lansing built cars.
*THE* VIN is the dashboard sequence like
344671M001442
and all '68 thru '71 442's [and ONLY 442's] sport the "44" model series identifying digits.
