To do any replacements of different bulbs you have to consider what the new current will be and if the wire size and fuse will be able to take the new current (amps). Use this formula, W = A x V or A = W/V.
you go in from the backside of the headlight assembly (under hood) it come out similar to the way we used to change tail light bulbs

A bulb designed for a higher voltage application than the one it's used in will not shine as brightly as it is supposed to. For instance; a 24 volt light in a 12 volt socket will be dimmer than it's designed to be.
I'd like to thank the automotive genius that left this answer. Open the hood and then take out the bulb that has burnt out. Then put the new bulb where the old one used to be.

there is no light bulb for the odometer. its a digital display. you have to replace the dash. used usally a 100. or so. had it happen to me. 2000 buick regal gs
