No, because there will be a conflict between the computer and the transmission. In fact, the computer from the 1990(OBD1-60 pin) will not even plug into the harness on the 1996(OBD2-104 pin) connector. Then if you transfer the wiring harness, the 1990 harness connectors wont even plug into the 1996 tranny anyway. You would have to tranfer the whole thing engine, tranny, wiring harness, and then there will be things unforseen that the engine harness from the 1990 wont plug into, like fuse and dash harness, where it connects to go into the car, and underbody where it plugs into to go to the fuel pump.Unfortunatley, you can't even strip the engine down and tranfer just the long block using maniflolds and sensors from the Duratec, since the Duratec(24 valve) is a completely different engine altogether from the 3.0(12 valve). Even the blocks are different.

You could have the 3.0 liter - OHV - Vulcan - V6 , the flex fuel version of the 3.0 liter - OHV - Vulcan - V6 , or the 3.0 liter - DOHC - Duratec - V6 engine
