The beta is an extremely territorial fish, and when it feels threatened it goes kung fu on whatever is threatening it. You answer is yes. CAUTION Neon tetras are the best to mix with betas, but make sure they are smaller than the beta and have a school of them 5 should do nicely. You can mix other fish, but here are the rules: They must be smaller and faster than the beta. They cannot have any long or flowing fins similar to the beta. You must keep your beta well fed or it will atack and eat the other fish. For more info call your local pet store and ask them what they think. There are several beta books you can find as well
Beta have long tails. Be careful putting them in aquariums that have aggressive fish. Beta can live with guppies but will devour the young of the guppies. Don't put the Betta in with tetras or other aggressive fish.
A Betta is a 3 inch fish. If you stick to the rules you could add up to another 5 inches of total fish length. Count your tank as holding around 8 gallons. (no tank is ever filled to the brim/capacity).The basic rules are. :- 1 inch of fish needs at least 1 gallon of water. :- Every tank needs a permanently running cycled filter. Every tank needs at least 50% of its water replaced every week. If you do all the above, feed the fish morning and evening and keep it/them at the correct temperature your fish stand a chance of survival. If you fail in any of them I can guarantee that your fish will be constantly getting sick and will live shorter lives than they should. Bettas are slow moving peacfull fish and you can choose fish from the Tetras, Danios, Rasboras, Corydoras and lots of other species to be in the same tank with a Betta.
Remember not to put a female and a male Betta in the same tank, or two males. The Betta fish may be peaceful with other species of fish, but Betta actually will kill and sometimes eat each other. It's fine to put two females together though, because males are the much more aggressive ones.
I myself have a 12 gallon and would NOT encourage you put Betta's and guppy together.
As when Betta's see a colourful tail and think it is challenging them, as they are very territorial. BUT FEMALES would be fine this is only males.
SOME FISH YOU COULD HAVE WITH GUPPIES.

Betta fish only like small containers to themselves. you can possibly have 10 or more betas to one 10 gallon but make sure that there is only one male. if there are two or more males they will fight to the death. in which case either one or both will die. female betas however do not fight each other.
other Betta fish and the bigger fish.

Yes, Betta Fish are extremely aggressive and they will most likely kill your other fish.
No. Betta fish will attack each other no matter the sex.
Take the Betta out as soon as possible.I have a Betta in my tank with other fish, but he doesnt fight with my fish at all.
No, Betta fish are aggressive toward any other fish they see. They cannot mate.
Male Betta's are solitary. They cannot be placed with other fish. That's why they are known a Japanese fighting fish. They will kill other fish for territory.
Well, if you love your Betta fish, then it should live by itself. But if you add another Betta to your current Betta fish's tank, then they will start a fight because Betta Fish are Siamese fighting fish and if one Betta is in contact of another Betta, the possible reason would be a fight between them two.
Betta are social fish. There is nothing wrong.
yes but only if yours is very hurt by the other betta fish.
Exactly as you spelled it in your question; a Betta fish is also known as a Siamese Fighting Fish.it is spelled "Betta", or its other name, "Siamese Fighting Fish." I know alot about Betta's. :D
