There is a motor that is known as Universal motor which works on DC or AC .You might find one in a drilling machine or a domestic grinding machine .But there is a disadvantage ,in that there will be sparking at the commutator between the brushes and the commutator segments due to a shift in the magnetic neutral axis while on AC operation.
Basically AC motors would not work on DC supply but there's however an exception for a Universal motor also known as a series motor. This is the only motor as far as I know that work on both AC and DC.
it will not work.
A dc series motor can work on dc and ac because dc motors are totally reversible.
A dc series motor with speed control can be connected on ac supply because dc machines are totally reversible.
the universel motor can runs at both ac and dc supply.
dc series moter
No it cant
Through loda
it burns thats it
To state it simply, a DC brushless motor is not a DC motor. It is an AC motor with an inverter (or electronic commutator) on the front end to make the AC, so you can use a DC input.
A variable speed module in a motor can work with ac or dc source
For some equipment it doesn't matter, other types of equipment will be destroyed. For a simple electric heater or an incandescent bulb AC or DC are acceptable, provided the rms voltage of the AC is equal to the DC voltage. If the heater has a time switch, DC is unacceptable. A DC motor may or may not work with AC depending on its type and size. The commutator motor as used in vacuum cleaners is essentially a DC motor, but most types of AC motor are not interchangeable to DC. Electronic circuits usually required a DC supply and if AC is applied many of the components will be destroyed.
