Not very likely even if you connected the battery in reverse. But with electronics it is possible. More than likely if you did this it just blew the fuse.
It seems like your radio is damaged. You can try to reset the system by taking out the battery, if the radio is in your car.
You left the door open to long and the battery went dead or you blew a fuse.
Disconnect negative cable first from old battery and connect it last when installing new battery.
Yes if the alternator is overcharging the battery.
no
Hello, Jamison here, Some cars have radios that are aimed at preventing theft, A default code is needed when the radio loses its CONSTANT power supply from the battery, This can be from the battery going DEAD for any reason it may have,or from the battery or radio being removed from the car. The radio will not come on until the code is entered. this is to keep someone from stealing your radio and installing it in another car. If it is the original radio for your car contact jaguar they have the code. If you bought the radio used, contact the person you bought it from. Good luck, Jamison
If it is bad enough, if the battery/cables get damaged. Also some cars have special battery terminals that disconnect the battery in a severe crash to prevent fires/etc. BMWs have it, is called the BST (battery safety terminal).

Yes, the battery will be ruined.
Santa Monica car sound is good at installing car radios at a reasonable price. I believe most car shops would be good at installing your car radio. Their prices are reasonable too. Best Buy is another excellent place to have your car radio installed.
