The GTP is supercharged and the the GT is just the 3800 engine without a supercharger
Very simply, the GT has a 3.8L v6, and the GTP has the exact same 3.8L with a supercharger on it that adds about 40 HP.
Yes you can, but you will need some things Here is a list GTP Supercharger w/ bolts and pulley GTP Throttle body GTP Fuel Injectors GTP Lower Intake Manifold GTP Cylinder Heads w/ valve covers Passenger motor mount GTP Harmonic Ballencer GTP supercharger belt tensioner and idler pulleys GTP MAP sensor GTP Vacuum lines Head Gasket set Head Bolt Set Lower Intake Manifold Gasket GTP Valve Cover Gaskets Supercharger gasket and coolent O Rings Throttle Body Gasket MAP/BBV harness adaptors PCM Tune In my opinion, you would be WAY better off just buying an L67 engine. I have seen those on craigslist from $200 to $500. Ya it will be a little bit more frustrating, but so will putting and replacing parts from a gtp onto your gt. But good luck though :)
no it will not. also the differential is hardened in the gtp supercharged engines but it will not even bolt up. if it were a gt and a gtp then it would fit, but you would need to change the differential to the gtp hd diff
There are a total of 4 02 sensors on an 2001 grandprix gtp with a supercharger 3.8 liter v6 engine
A grand prix gt un-supercharged will smoke a grand am gt, the supercharged gtp grand prix will destroy it.
As far as bolt patterns go, I believe the Eaton M90 roots-style supercharger will fit. However, in order to operate properly, I believe a lot of electrical retrofitting would be necessary. The largest concern, however, is that the 4T65E transmission in the GT would not be able to safely handle the power and torque that GTP produces. The GTP is equipped with the 4T65E-HD "heavy duty" transmission, which is capable of handling more power, i.e. supercharger. Applying the supercharger to the GT is probably more trouble than it is worth, and I would not recommend the application unless all the parts are in front of you and readily accessible, and you are willing to deal with any possible headaches that come along with this process. Hope this helps though! It can be done but you need to transfer parts from the L67/L32 ( GTP ) to your GT. Off the top of my head you will need to transfer the Lower Intake Manifold, Heads, PCM, Upper Intake Manifold ( Supercharger ), some pulleys, and some other things. Go to zzperformance.com and you can buy a kit.
where do you live, would you be willing to sell your gtp? i have a 97 that is wrecked and ive been looking for one to put the engine in. please email me at heather.walden@okstate.edu. please no other emails
The difference in a GT, and GTP is that the GTP is supercharged. Which gives it 40 extra horses over the GT. GT1 means it a car that was realeased in the first half of the year.
No, Supercharged GTP's require a higher flow fuel pump than GT's and SE's.
no, the gt has a 4t60e transmission and the gtp has a 4t65e-hd transmission which is built to handle more power than the t60. t65-hd is a better tranny
No, it will not because the engines are diffrent sizes.
