Yes -- multiple brands can be used concurrently in the same system.
In my opinion the Rockford fosgate T2 subs are the best. They are pricey but well worth it. I have a t2 15" powered by a Rockford fosgate t2001bd (2000 watts) and it is the best system I've had.
No, a powered subwoofer cannot directly power passive speakers because passive speakers require an external amplifier to drive them. A powered subwoofer has its own built-in amplifier designed specifically for low-frequency sounds, while passive speakers need a separate amplifier to provide the necessary power. If you want to use passive speakers, you'll need an appropriate amplifier that matches their specifications.
A passive sub-woofer does work when plugged in to an amplifier. In an active sub-woofer ("powered") the amplifier is built in.
Unpowered subwoofers take power from the receiver itself whereas a powered subwoofer has its own amplifier. This helps takesome strain off the receiver so powered subwoofers are considered a better option.
The best subwoofer for a Ford Bronco largely depends on your personal preferences and audio needs, but a popular choice is the JL Audio 10W3v3-2. This subwoofer offers excellent sound quality and deep bass without taking up too much space. For a custom fit, consider a sealed or ported enclosure designed specifically for the Bronco's interior. Additionally, the Rockford Fosgate P300-12 is another great option, featuring a compact powered subwoofer that can easily enhance your audio experience.
No, this is a passive subwoofer designed for car audio applications. Modern home theatre receivers have no amplifier for the subwoofer and expect a powered sub.

I personally like 8" in trucks due to the smaller cab size. You can go up to a 10" if you want more noise, but the smaller they are, typically the crisper. If you are going powered pick one up on Crutchfield. if using an amp you can go any brand, my favorite is Rockford Fosgate, but I have friends that prefer JBL.
I dont think your rockford 1000 is rated for 2 ohms. You could fry the amp.
Depends, Self powered or not? home or car? XLR or RCA? Speakon or TRS JAck? or simple speaker cable.
consider getting a lower powered amplifier or subwoofer that doesn't strain your cars electrical power.
At the rear of the receiver there is a single RCA jack (phono socket) that is marked "audio out" and "sub-woofer". This is a mono feed that can be connected to a powered sub bass unit. It will not drive an un-powered bass speaker that does not have an internal amplifier. If the bass speaker is not powered, the audio out from the receiver can be taken to a single channel of another amplifier and the bass speaker then connected to the speaker output of the amplifier.
