Yes having same problem not fuses and won't read codes
As with many electronic devices they can merely fail over time. I have heard it said that jumping the battery can cause the ECM to fail, I don't know that to be true. Too high a battery voltage could cause failure of the ECM. That might be caused by the alternator putting out too much voltage when charging the battery.
Does the ecm control charging system on a 93 jeep wrangler and cause it not to charge the battery
You will find the ECM on the passenger side on the inside in the far right corner going through the firewall. You will have to take the battery and battery tray out to unscrew the wire harness from the engine compartment. The ECM unit will then come out easily from inside your vehicle.
No, you can't clear codes on any vehicle by disconnecting the battery. Thet are stored in the ECM and are still there when you re-connect the battery.
Testing an ECM requires it to be installed on the vehicle.
check ecm fuse
Behind driver seat in with battery , have to remove battery first to take it out. Check 20 amp fuse next to battery first it is for the ECM (computer).
1st, check battery voltage, 2nd, check the connectors to the ecm, 3rd, if battery good and edm good connections, check fuse block connections. if all are good, go to a salvage yard and purchase a used ecm for your vehicle nd replace old ecm. if that fails, you're up sh** creek wthout a paddle!!
The ECM fuse is located inside the engine of the vehicle. Engine Control Module acts as the main fuse of the vehicle.
how come when we turn on ac the belts slow down. It takes horse power to operate the ac compressor and the vehicles ECM (engine control module) will compensate for that. If the vehicles charging system and ac system is in good working order it will not drain the battery or effect the idle.
Behind driver seat in with battery , have to take battery out to get ECM out. First check 20 amp fuse next to battery it is for the ECM , protects it.
