If you get twelve points on your driving record in a two year period your driving privileges can be suspended for up to six months. This can make it difficult, but not impossible to get insurance. It will most likely raise the cost though.

Make sure that you know exactly how many points are on your license. Depending on the violation, you may be able to get the points reduced. When searching for the right insurance company, make sure to have the money on hand to pay in full. Be honest with the company because they will check your credit report. You may have to pay more for a time. Once the points start to come off your license, then you will be able to look for more affordable insurance.

Is there anyway of getting really bad driver off your insurance policy?

For the first one, I think if they really wanted to, they could drop you. But my guess is the company would just charge the bad driver horrible rates... And for the second question yes, you defiently can have someone removed from the policy. (i guess it does depend on policy though)

How do you get points of your drivers licenses?

You obey the rules of the road when you do drive and you wait. The passage of time is the only way for the points to expire. Remember, the points will expire but your driving record lasts forever and your auto insurance company looks at the last five years of your driving record when calculating your premium. The worse your record the higher your insurance premium will be because the insurance company figures that since you're a bad driver, you're more likely to have accidents and make claims which is not what they want.

How many points before you are considered a bad driver?

Whether you're a good driver or bad driver really doesn't depend on the amount of points on your licence. Just because you don't get caught, it doesn't make you a good driver. For the purposes of employment in a driving job, most employers will refuse to hire you if you have more than three points in three years - the cost to insure you rises exponentially past that point, as will you own policy on your personal vehicle.
