Yes, just ask nicely.
No, it happened to me. They will ignore you and all you get is phone call back and nothing in the writing.
My letter # 2
To whomever it may concern, (letter number 2)
I am writing to kindly request a return and refund for the 2010 Toyota Camry that I purchased last year (in cash) as a birthday present for my wife.
Over the years, we have been loyal Toyota customers (I have owned two other Toyotas in the past, and both by daughters drive Corollas). Even before accelerator problems had become known to everyone my wife complained about unwanted acceleration at which time I did not pay too much attention to it.
Unfortunately, due to the recently discovered defects (the floor mat issue, as well as the sticky accelerator pedal) and ongoing class action lawsuits against Toyota concerning faulty ECS-i modules, my wife has lost confidence in her vehicle and is afraid to drive it.
As a result of all of that her new car has been sitting useless in the garage for the last three months (with only just over 5000km on it).
Even my several efforts to trade in that car resulted in the failure since not even one wanted to take it in, even at severely discounted price.
I have paid in cash for what I assumed was a very good car and I ended up with useless dangerous vehicle which nobody wants.
It feels like being robbed by your company and that is why I want my money back.
I wrote you a letter about two weeks ago on Thursday, January-28-10 but till today I did not get any answer in writing which is surprising considering the fact Toyota claims "Our goal is to continue to earn customers trust each and every day"
Your consideration in this matter is very much appreciated,
Joseph
There are 2 types of merchandisers in export houses - buyer and production merchandisers. Buyer merchandisers act as a link between the buyer and the manufacturer. They have the responsibility of ensuring that the product is developed as per the requirements of the buyer so in between they have the resposibilty of sourcing, sampling and communication with the buyer. The production merchants on the other hand are a link between production and buyer merchants. They have the responsibility of ensuring that the production goes as per the schedule and as per the requirements.

Typically a percentage of the sale that funds when escrow closed. 3% is normal, though generally the buyer's agent and the seller's agent split the commission 50/50. If the buyer has no agent, a partial refund is sometimes given to the buyer. sometime fixed amount may also be charged from buyer or seller insted of percentage.
A Toyota Tacoma car can be purchased at a Toyota dealership, or from a private owner who has put adds in the newspaper or on craigslist. By googling Toyota Tacomas in their area, a potential buyer can easily come across a large amount of choices.
You can return the car for repair, but not for a refund. The cooling off period law, or buyer's remorse law, does not apply to the sale of a vehicle.
