Yes, but you should use a drop splitter (2 way balanced) from the input source. Then use the other to connect to addition tvs.

Tips For Installing Your Cable Modem?

Once considered a highly technical device only for the most technologically capable, the cable modem is now a tool used in the vast majority of households. If you want to use your cable modem in the same general area as your television but you are having trouble with just one cable jack, then maybe you should invest in a splitter. A splitter will essentially make it so that you can run one cable to the modem, and one to the television. This can be an excellent alternative to having two separate devices in different locations of your home.

My Cable modem periodically slows down a lot and almost stops. How do I fix that?

Call your cable modem service provider and have them run a series of tests on your line. If necessary, they will replace your modem, as well.

How do you use a usb cable to connect to your modem?

Your question presupposes that you have subscribed to cable internet service, and that the provider has run a cable to your home. It also presupposes that you have a cable modem. If these suppositions are correct, you just have to run coax between the cable jack on the wall and the cable modem. Then you need to connect the modem to your computer via USB, FireWire, or whatever interface your modem and computer have in common. FriPilot

How do you split cable internet to get cable television?

Depending on your cable company, it may not be possible. If you are paying for cable tv service, then you should be able to use a splitter from radioshack or anywhere that sells them. Make sure you get a splitter that goes up to 1000mhz, or 1 ghz. The splitter has an in and at least 2 outs, maybe more depending on how many devices you want. Be aware that splitting cable signal cuts it in half and if you do not have enough signal for this, your internet may stop working. If you are not paying for tv service, most companies will put something called a hypass on the line. This allows only the frequencies that carry internet signal to pass through. If you do not have one of these installed on your line, than you should be able to get tv reception. Good luck!

Can you link coaxialcable and satellite cable?

The short answer is yes and no. Yes you can if you are not passing HD satellite. All you need is 2 "diplexer(s)" (looks like a splitter, but isn't). at one end connect the satellite and cable. run the line to your tv, and split back to your satellite and cable. The Diplexer is labelled "tv" and "satellite".

Why does your modem always run?

Cable and DSL connections are "always on", meaning faster access for the user not having to wait for a modem connection, as is the case for dial-up.

Can an HDTV antenna be connected to and combined with the same coax that provides existing cable signals?

You would need to run the Cable co-ax into a splitter switch, and connect the HDTV antenna to the other side.

What wires do you need to run from your outside phonebox to your phone jack to connect dsl?

You do not need to run any wires. DSL connects directly to the phone jack. You run phone line from the phone jack to a filter, then to the DSL Modem. You can also install a filter at the interface to eliminate the need for filters inside the home. If you install interior filters, you will need one at each phone jack that is being used by any device. From the modem you can either run USB or Ethernet cable to the computer if the modem is a USB/Ethernet modem. I do not recommend USB. Use the Ethernet if at all possible. The connection is more stable and slightly faster. If your computer has no Ethernet connection, you can install an Ethernet card for as little as $20. Use a good quality Cat5 or Cat6 cable from the Modem to the computer.
