If you have just a mattress on the floor with no box spring its totally safe to sleep on. I have actually just changed to sleeping on only a mattress and i get an amazing sleep. I am an adult ,but my son has done the same thing with his mattress and he tells me every morning, ''daddy last night i slept great.'' give it a try you might actually get a better night sleep!!!
